If you can perform these tests, and validate that during prime95 stressing the temps don't run out of control and the prime95 tests don't fail, then you can be confident the underlying hardware is good. My CPU remains under 76C while stressing with prime95, which is well below the max temp (100C) for that chip. IF the temps do rise, and rise, and keep rising, then abort the stress testing.
No matter how long you run prime95 (or any stressor) temps should not go out of control. So monitor temps to make sure CPU/MB temps stay well within normal range. Because prime95 torture test is a very heavy workload, if the cooling system is not proper then it will result in CPU and/or motherboard temps raising, and rising, and rising until eventually throttle limits are hit. Personally though, I wouldn't recommend to run prime95 without monitoring temperatures. If you see the tests failing, and just let it keep running, it will eventually abend the OS. This can be caused by a conflict between the Kaspersky Lab application and an application made by another company, or with your computer’s drivers.

If that runs for about 30 minutes without any of those tests failing, then I'd be confident the memory, memory controller, and memory channels to CPU are good.īut I would expect it will fail. After installing a Kaspersky, a situation may occur in which the Windows 10 operating system crashes and a blue screen appears (BSoD Blue Screen of Death). Run it in "torture test" mode, which will set it to "large FFT". Since it is a memory error, I'd be most interested in seeing what prime95 finds. Is that referring to my suggesting to run stress tests? You can't really determine the hardware is truly stable without doing that. Not sure what you are saying "i don't want to run something". If it is liquid cooled, temps should be ok, but you may need to revisit your CPU / RAM Voltages if you are overclocking. So I have a Motherboard / Memory issue with 32GB RAM, most likely because of the bent / damaged CPU socket.ĭid you buy your new System pre-built, or did you build it yourself? I removed 16GB and overclocked the RAM to 3400Mhz - No issues (All 4 sticks of RAM were tested this way to ensure it wasn't a RAM issue). I reset my 32GB RAM speed to 2000Mhz, then 2400Mhz and found no more BSOD while gaming. X-Plane 11 popped up memory error messages continuously. As such I ran it at 3000Mhz.Ī year later I started getting BSOD and mouse issues while gaming. My RAM was rated at 3400Mhz but I could never run it at this speed, which I attributed at the time to the ASUS MB BIOS needing further updates. When I built my 8700K System 2 years ago, I unfortunately bent some of the CPU socket receptors on the Motherboard ( I think, maybe came that way, not sure).
